About the Collaborative
The Religious Cognition Collaborative develops interdisciplinary research on religion, cognition, neuroscience, consciousness, and culture. Rather than operating as a conventional laboratory built around one investigator or method, RCC identifies promising questions, assembles project-specific teams, and provides the structure to carry work through to publication.
Our mission
To advance interdisciplinary research on religion, cognition, neuroscience, consciousness, and culture by building the teams and structures needed to pursue difficult questions.
What RCC does
Projects may begin with a theoretical question, a public dataset, a funding opportunity, an undeveloped collaboration, or a methodological problem. RCC helps define the project, assembles the relevant expertise, pursues support, and coordinates the work through publication.
RCC is nonconfessional, and welcomes researchers across religious, philosophical, methodological, and disciplinary backgrounds.
Organizational status
The Religious Cognition Collaborative conducts its charitable research and educational activities through True Dreams Project Fund, a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. True Dreams Project Fund provides the legal, fiduciary, and administrative structure through which RCC develops projects, receives and administers funding, and carries out its work.
